DISTINCTIVE FEATURES of KISS

System Wide

General Ledger
  • Quick Profit/Loss single-screen display for the last 14 months. Also shows the current balances of the Bank account, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable. If the G/L is out of balance (heaven forbid), that will be noted also.

  • During the first month of the new year, monthly budget amounts may be changed manually, or adjusted up or down by a percentage, or changed to last year's actual amounts, then adjusted.

  • Posting detail is retained for the last 14 months and is accessable on screen or on detailed reports. Detail older than that (if not intentionally purged) may be accessed using the R/W quick report feature.

  • When listing a G/L account's posting detail to the screen, any line item may be selected to show the other accounts posted (distribution) with the selected item.

  • During the first month of a new fiscal year, journal entries may be posted to any month of the old year. After that (next 11 months), journal entries may be be posted to the last month of the old year, even if the old year has been closed.

  • Other modules (A/P, P/R, etc.) post only to the current, previous, or next month, according to the transaction date used.

Accounts Payable
  • Each vendor master has a field for your account number with them, such as your customer number, or your federal or state ID number. If not blank this will print on checks.

  • Each vendor master has a field for the default G/L account to expense. It may be used or overridden when entering invoices.

  • Use a due date of 999999 to hold an invoice. It will be skipped when paying all invoices within a due date range.

  • Option to print invoice paid detail on the check stub, or total only.

  • Address a label or envelope from the vendor master screen.

  • Change the upper case name and address to lower case with capitals beginning each word.

Accounts Receivable
  • Up to 6 telephone numbers may be entered for each customer.

  • Address a label or envelope from the customer master screen. Print the return address if needed.

  • Invoicing and payment detail for each customer may be kept indefinitely. Purge paid invoices and payment detail based on a keep-after date.

  • Print statements using a start date for paid detail.

  • Change the upper case name and address to lower case with capitals beginning each word.

  • Print various size and 1-4 across mailing labels based on customer status and type.

  • Customer aging is not an updating process. Aging reports are based on the due dates compared to up to 4 dates you input.

  • Only summarized invoices (totals) are stored for each customer. Detailed invoicing is performed and stored in Order Entry/Invoicing (if used).

Payroll
  • Up to 15 user configured adjustments may be set up. These may be deductions, allowances, or benefits. They can handle cafeteria plans, 401k, labor union dues, insurance deductions, matching employer benefits, rates per hour, percent of gross, a percentage of another adjustment and may be taxable or non-taxable. If the work codes are used as state disablity insurance rates, a deduction and/or benefit may be tied to the work code used for the employee.

  • Quick snapshot backup of the P/R and G/L files just prior to running payroll.

  • Tax tables may be updated from diskette, or edited by the user.

    State tax tables are programable, providing a solution for the many different taxing formulas.

  • More than one locality w/h tax per employee may be setup.

  • Store each employee's ID number with expiration date. Can be used for drivers licence, alien ID, etc.

    Miniumum wage checking is performed when entering hours and piecework.

  • Handles Washington state SUTA reporting.

  • Can key on a G/L account for splitting out distributions to other G/L accounts.

  • Can key on a G/L account for percentage distributions to Jobs or Crops.

  • Cut a draw check or draw receipt, and at the same time set up the deduction amount to be paid back each pay period.

Order Entry/Invoicing
  • Maintain a history file of detailed invoices as large as disk space allows. Searching, lookup, and reports are the same as the current file.

  • Quotes may be entered and saved. Detail from quotes may be copied into an order or another quote. New quotes may use automatic sequential numbering.

  • Open order analysis shows shipable orders based on available inventory, prioritized by expected date. User may input a maximum number of line items per order that may be back ordered. Results may be used for automatic shipping and printing of packing lists.

  • Sales analysis for any date range by salesman or customer shows part numbers sold with quantities, costs, prices and profit margin.

  • Transfer sales activity from a branch site to the main site via diskette or modem. Will update the home site Order Entry, A/R, Inventory, and G/L.

  • Use 2 series of automatic order numbering. Example: one for sales orders, the other for service orders.

  • Flag drop ship orders (direct from vendor to customer) and use for cutting the P/O to the vendor.

Inventory
  • Internal audit trail tracks all changes to the on hand quantity or unit cost of each part. Includes either the operation or document, old and new value, the date and time, and who did it. Reports (on screen or printed) may be run with date range, part number and other searching criteria.

  • Each part nnumber has three extra 30 character descriptions. Each may be designated for printing on an invoice, a P/O, or for internal info only.

  • Cross-reference multiple part numbers (ie, customers numbers, brand name part numbers) to your own in-house part number.

  • An Alternate part number and description may be used for a vendor part number and pulled into a P/O.

  • Price changes may be be performed on ranges or categories of part numbers, using a percentage up or down, based on either the unit cost or current price.
