Customer Letters Use the 'Edit/View Letter' button to create the letter you wish to send to selected customers. The file LETTER.TXT is used for this purpose. If the file does not exist, create it. Whatever is in the LETTER.TXT file is printed below the salutation. Use the SaveAtree printer and view the results, or use the Test Print. Do not put tabs or special characters in the letter file. Start your text in column 1. If you want a margin, set the # of columns in the Left Margin size. Use Notepad's Save As to change the name/extension and save different versions of letters. Just remember that the file 'Letter.txt' is what gets used for a letter run. This is also stored on your own C drive Note - the program will attempt to select the correct font density (size) based on the longest line in the letter plus the margin used. The date and your Company name and address, if selected to print, is centered based on the longest line in the letter and the margin. The default expiration date selection is all (From blanks to 999999). To select ONLY those customers with blank expiration dates (shown as N/A), set both the from and thru dates to blanks. Specific Customers To print a single letter to specific customer(s), set the # of letters to 1, then put that customer's account no. in start at. Search using the Master Screen info You could select a city name or sales person. Or use the first 3 digits of the zip code. The whole master screen data area searched for whatever you key in. Its best to use at least 3 chars/numbers, and you may still select a few that you did not intend.
